Construction

Steel wire rope consists of strands wound around a core. These strands themselves are build up from a number of wires. The term construction refers to both the make up of the core and the make up of the strands. For example: Construction 6x7+1PP   Composition of the core: 1 polypropylene core denoted by "1PP" Composition of the strands: 6 strands each consisting of 7 wires denoted by "6x7"     Construction 7x19   Composition of the core: 1 strand consisting of 19 wires Composition of the strands: 6 strands each consisting of 19 wires denoted by "6x19" (Since the core is built up the same way as the 6 strands that are wound around it, this rope is referred to as 7x19.)
